***** 6/8/2010 - After suffering a personal
setback in my life, I was looking for something that would
help me to channel negative thoughts and energy into
something constructive and positive. I know that I
quickly needed to find the balance and focus that had been
misplaced in my life. For many Years, I had the
thought of someday taking up martial arts instruction.
After a solid internet search, I happened upon AmeriKick
Staten Island, conveniently nearby. The owner, Sensei
Vlad, welcomed me personally and offered me a 2 day trial
with no pressure or obligation to stay. Being 34 year
old guy starting late in the game, I was nervous about being
a rookie surrounded by younger skilled martial artists.
MY fears couldn't have been farther off base! I was
instantly welcomed and inspired by Sensei Vlad and the
entire class, whose company and camaraderie I have come to
enjoy. Sensei Vlad takes a personal interest in my training
and my live. In the last 4 months, I have lost weight,
increased my strength and endurance, toned up and my social,
family and work relationships have all greatly improved.
He and my classmates have helped me to relaim my focus and
balance and boost my overall outlook on life!

will not regret taking classes at the Amerikick school in
Staten Island. What makes this school so unique is that
the instructors are very accommodating, friendly, devoted
and educated in their skill. Unlike all the other Martial
Arts schools out there who take the same impersonal
approach, I felt like I was given one-on-one treatment that
fit just right to my body type, eating habits, and
lifestyle. Especially classes with Sensei vlad were not only
challenging but extremely fulfilling.

This is a great school! I take kickboxing classes there and
I love it. Also planning to send my kids to karate at
the same place. My friend's kids go there for karate
and they really like it.
My experience with Amerikick

Approximately three years ago my sister came to me
enthusiastically with a flyer of the AmerikickKarate School
in Brooklyn stating that she signed us up for ladies
kickboxing. My first response to her was “no, that's not for
me,” but then I received a phone call from Sensei Vlad
welcoming me and my sister to the Karate school. This kind
gesture gave me the sense that Amerikick is a cool place.
That phone call brought me into the Karate school for my
first lesson. My experience with Amerikick has been and
continues to be a fabulous one. The sense of
community/environment, the staff, and the Sensei's allow for
your experience to be a positive one. A new Amerikick karate
studio had its grand opening a few months ago where Sensei
Vlad is an instructor. As one of his students in Park slope,
I can say from personal experience that the kids as well as
the adults will get a lot out of his lessons. I know that as
his student I learned how to defend myself, became more
flexible, increased my strength, LOST WEIGHT, AND DISCOVERED
THAT I HAD ABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also had fun in the process.

I haven't seen any school as structured and focused at the
same time. Check the school out and you will understand what
I am talking about. All the kids listen and respond with a
smile on their face (no fooling around, just love how the
instructor teaches the classes). Give them a call, and try
their free private lesson for your self. I did, and i'm so
happy that I did. I even encouraged my Neighbors to go. They

I joined AmeriKick in Staten Island a month ago, and I
couldn't have asked for a better kickboxing class. The
workouts are intense and nothing like running on the
treadmill. I love how Sensei Vlad drills the students and
still comes around to correct or help people who don't quite
understand. This kickboxing class is a great way to get in
shape and even better way to release any anger or stress on
the bag.

I passed by the school because of this flyer I saw in a
store. I was skeptical about coming in, but then I just said
what the heck! Anyhow, I came in and the environment is so
welcoming, I was greeted as soon as I entered. The woman and
the desk gave me all the information I needed for
Kickboxing. It's a Grand opening, I don't know how long that
will last but I'm getting 50%off Because I'm signing up NEXT
WEEK! So Excited.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY. A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE
YOUR KIDS. THE INSTUCTORS ARE SO PATIENT AND SWEET. ALWAYS
SMILING, ALWAYS INTERACTING WITH THE PARENTS. SUCH A GREAT
VIBE. MOST OF ALL, ALL THE KIDS HERE LEARN SOMETHING NEW
EVER CLASS, NOT LIKE OTHER SCHOOL, THAT TEACH THE SAME THING
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I PERSONALLY QUITE SCHOOLS 5
TIMES DUE TO LACK OF INTERST IN HOW THE INSTRUCTORS TOUGHT
CLASSES. HERE AT AMERIKICK, ITS FUN, INTERESTING,
EDUCATIONAL, AND MOST OF ALL IT'S A LESSON FOR LIFE. I AM
NOW A BLACK BELT AT THIS SCHOOL AND LOVES TEACHING EVERY
SECOND BECAUSE I WANT ALL THE KIDS TO GET THE REAL BENEFIT
OF MARTIAL ARTS.
